Counseling sessions usually last 50-55 minutes, but can be tailored to your needs. I also offer 90-minute sessions on select weekends for those who want extra support. Please allow time for an hour session plus travel for in-person visits. To achieve the best treatment outcomes, I highly recommend that new clients attend weekly for the first 6-8 sessions. Remember, while the session is valuable, much of the transformation happens in the time that follows. Consider self-paying to allow for this extended support; it can make a significant difference in your progress.
Insurance may lower session costs, but it requires a psychiatric diagnosis, which becomes part of your permanent health record. Providers can't control how insurers use this information, leading many clients and parents to choose self-pay. Please reach out if you have any questions.
